In today's market place, you have many options to sell your home. Discount brokerages for a flat fee or No real estate commission at all, or using For Sale by Owner (FSBO) web sites like Purplebricks, Propertyguys...etc.

  1. For Sale By Owner (FSBO): With For Sale by Owner (FSBO) websites you pay a lot of money for their company’s For Sale signs and a web space to list your home on their website. You MUST pay upfront and to install their signs on your property. You as a homeowner think it is the best marketing strategy and FSBO sites help you to sell your home and you save the real estate commission. Infact you PAY THEM to promote their business at your cost using your money and property. It doesn’t matter to them if your property sells in 1 day, 1 month or 1 year. It doesn’t matter to them if you lose 1%, 5%, 10% or if your house doesn't sell all. They already made their money. They don't care even if you lose your home to the bank (Power of Sale). FSBO sites they don't tell you the truth that Selling a house without a Realtor typically leads to a lower sales price, according to data from the National Association of Realtors’ 2018 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers. The median sales price of a FSBO home was $200,000 in 2018, which is nearly $65,000 less than the median sales price of $264,900 for agent-assisted home sales, NAR reported. Most of the qualified buyers work with a Real Estate Agent to help them to find a home. 


  1. Discount brokerage: The same is true with discount brokerages, they may work part time as a Realtor and drive Uber/Lyft full time or they may have 9-5 full time job else where. It doesn’t matter to them how much or how soon your property is sold. If your propety doesn't sell, it doesn't take away food from their table as they have full time job not as Real Estate Agent. Selling your home is not their priority, they are committed full time elsewhere. Their primary source of income is their full time job not selling your home. Therefore, they are not 100% dedicated to sell your home for top dollar in short amount of time. They may not be available to meet with qualified buyer at your property to show them your home and sell it. 


  1. Full Time Realtor: When you build your home, you hire a full time contractor with many years of experience. You don’t hire a part time contractor to show up whenever he/she is available to get the job done. With part time contractor you may get the lowest contracting quote, which is very appealing. In long run you lose a lot of money as the projects delays and creates a lot of frustration for you and your family. You may end up PAY ALOT MORE to hire a full time contractor later to not only finish the job but also correct all the problems that the part time contractor has created. The same is true when selling your home, you need a Full Time Realtor with many years of experience to handle the sale of your life’s biggest investment (your property)
